Our Asafoetida (Hing) is organic and hand pounded to create a fine powder. It has a pungent flavour and is commonly used in curries, dals and other indian vegetable preparations. Unlike many retailers, we do not add any substance such as maida or cornflour to bulk up the quantities. It is a concentrated form of hing with a strong aroma thus only a pinch is needed while preparing a dish. Hing helps stimulate appetite and improve digestion and is considered to be effective in relieving spasms. It adds a more wholesome flavour to food by bringing all the ingredients together.
