Uganda grass, also known as bana grass and elephant grass is a drought resistant African sugar grass that grows around 12 ft high. This is honey made by the wild small bees, also known as red dwarf bees or apis florea, collected by tribals from forests areas in Tamil Nadu where wild Uganda grass has been growing for many years. This is the first variant of honey I got only after it was lab tested for research purposes. It has a distinctively clean citrus aroma and a refreshingly fresh citrus taste followed by its pleasant and smooth sweetness. In Hindu culture, the honey from such bees represents “the blendedness of everything” and is served with other ingredients in a variety of traditional ceremonies. The amount of honey they make is small, usually not exceeding several hundred grams per colony. The tribals store it in brass pots that they dig in soil and close. When needed, they dig out the pots and use it. Raw honey stored in brass pots stay the same retaining its purity and beneficial properties. It is runny than normal honey and highly medicinal. As per Ayurveda, it is considered to be the best type of honey. Moreover, honey has made a large scale impact on the tribal community of many little villages in the area and is source of livelihood for a number of tribal honey collectors. It helps to cure impotence and improving the nervous system. This honey has been used in traditional medicines like Siddha and Ayurveda and is considered to be superior in quality by the alternative medicine practitioners. It is also good for skin and has natural anti-ageing, anti-wrinkle, anti-acne and skin repairing properties.

Organic Monkey procures pure raw honey directly from tribals, passionate beekeepers & residentials all over India. It is honey made by different species of bees from the nectar of flowers, honeydew on trees & leaf petioles. It is unadulterated, unprocessed, unblended, not microfiltered or infused with anything. Every variant of raw honey is filtered by a strainer as shown in the image, without any exposure to heat. We fill them in jars & pack only as per orders placed by our customers.
 
Regarding Honey Color, Taste & Other Properties:
The variant of honey will precisely be of the same origin as mentioned in the product description, however, it may vary from product image as pure raw honey never stays the same. It's alive with yeast, their enzymes & different forms of sugar in it. As it ages, its color, consistency and/or taste profile may change mildly or extremely, depending on many factors like pollen count of different flowers, ratio of nectar of different flowers that blossom, and more. Also, crystallization may occur when the natural glucose settles on beneficial microparticles in honey.
 
Product Sizes:
We dispatch raw honey in airtight glass jars of 250gm & 500gm. Price is mentioned for 250gm only. 500gms would cost twice the amount 250gm of the same variant of honey costs. If you prefer a 500gm jar, please precisely mention it as a note while placing an order & we shall make sure it is.

Storage:
You may store it in a cool & dark place.
Make sure to use a dry spoon to take honey from the jar.
