Sabai grass is a natural fibre which grows near river banks. Also known as the elephant grass/African grass. First ropes are made by hand twisting the grass. The bundles are then soaked in natural dyes before drying in the sun. These are handwoven by tribal women in small villages of Orissa in India and it takes about 8-15 days to complete a set. We at MyCozyCornerStore are helping in the empowerment of these tribal women which has become their source for rehabilitation.

These are Eco friendly and sustainably produced. They can also be used as bedside trinket holders, and fruit baskets and make excellent gifts. All the plates have a hook at the back to conveniently hang them onto the wall. These are easy to maintain -just wipe with a clean cloth. Due to the handcrafted nature, the colour might differ a little bit from the pictures.
